CBSE COUNSELLING FROM 1ST FEBRUARY TO 31ST MARCH 2008

 The first phase of CBSE counseling will begin from 1st Feb. to 31st March, 2008 .  This is the 11th consecutive year that CBSE will be providing counseling services to students and parents during examinations to overcome their anxiety and examination related stress.   

The CBSE outreach programme is carefully designed keeping the heterogeneity of students’ population and geographical spread.  Multiple modes of communication are used to reach out to more and more examinees during this phase.

 1.         CBSE TELE COUNSELLING:

 CBSE started this pioneering community work 11 years back in 1998 for the first time.  The highlights of CBSE tele-counselling are :  

(i)    It is offered by trained counselors and Principals from within CBSE affiliated schools.

(ii)    It is a voluntary free of cost service provided by the participants.

(iii)   It is a flexible and mobile service. 

 -This year as many as 36 Principals, trained counselors   from CBSE affiliated govt. and private schools, psychologists and social scientists will operate this helpline individually from 13 centres in Delhi , Noida, Chandigarh , Meerut , Jaipur, Gurgaon, Faridabad , Bhubneshwar, Vishakhapatnam , Jamnagar , Jabalpur , Coimbatore and for the first time from Ludhiana . One additional centre has been set up in Kuwait this year. With this there are total six helpline centres outside India at Dubai , Kuwait , Doha & Qatar, Sharjah , Yemen .   

For better accessibility and convenience of the students, the centres have been arranged state-wise and students are advised to call the numbers closer to their location specially while dialing the mobile numbers.  The detailed list is also enclosed for wider publicity.    

 

Help Line Programme

You are aware that CBSE started student help line in 1998 in order to providing counseling to students before the examination and also during the declaration of results.  This is a voluntary service provided by Principals and trained counselors during interactive sessions over telephone.  The experts are drawn from eminent schools affiliated with CBSE in India and abroad.  The feed back received so far shows that there has been a perceptible reduction of stress and anxiety amongst students as a result of this service.  Each year new features have been added to make CBSE counseling more and more useful.  

CBSE is in the process of broad basing the existing network.  You are cordially invited to join this help line beginning from 1st February to 31st March 2008.  Your confirmation along with your contact number may reach us through fax (22515826) or E-mail secy-cbse@nic.in or mk_arora27@rediffmail.com latest by 15th January 2008. You can also submit your particulars online. You are free to choose the timings from the time slots given below:

(i)                8.00 a.m. – 12.00 noon

(ii)             12.00 noon – 4.00 p.m.

(iii)           4.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.

(iv)            8.00 p.m. – 12.00 night

SAKSHAT – AN EDUCATION PORTAL ON INTERNET

 

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has designed an education helpline named ‘Sakshat’.  It is perceived to be a single stop education portal for addressing the needs of students, scholars, teachers and life long learners.  It is a free portal launched by the Hon’ble President of India on 30th October 2006.

 

CBSE has joined this unique endevour to facilitate particularly Class XI and XII students.  The portal will be fully interactive from 26th January 2007.  Students can make one to one interactions with subject experts selected by the MHRD and CBSE.  These experts can be contacted for guidance in the following subjects on all days between 5.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m.:

 

  1. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology

  2. Accountancy, Business Studies

  3. English Core and Functional English
