ISM RETAINS AMBASSADOR’S POLEMIC
CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIP
Indian School Muscat (ISM) emerged champions
at the Ambassador’s Polemic Challenge which was
conducted on Tuesday, 15th November 2011
in the Multipurpose Hall of Indian School Al Wadi Al
Kabir under the aegis of the Board of Directors, Indian
schools in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Ambassador’s Polemic Challenge is an
annual inter-school debate competition organized by
the Board of Directors in order to provide an
opportunity to the students of Indian schools in the
Sultanate to hone their debating skills. This was
instituted by the former Ambassador
of India to the Sultanate, H.E. Shri. Anil Wadhwa on
October 2, 2008 which was declared as the
International Day of Non-violence by the United
Nations Organization. The prize winners were felicitated
with individual trophies and the champion school is
awarded a majestic rolling trophy.
Twelve
Indian schools across the country participated in
this annual event. The participants debated on the
motion 'Peace is more important than Prosperity.'
At the end of the closely contested debate,
Indian School Muscat, represented by Master Jamshed
Z. Patwa of Class XII F and Miss
Nishigandha Kelkar of Class XI E emerged
champions of the Ambassador’s Polemic Challenge
and lifted the coveted trophy. This is the second
consecutive year that ISM has won this prized
trophy. Jamshed was declared the best speaker.
Principal, Mr. Achuthan Madhav and the entire Indian
School Muscat family congratulate Master Jamshed and
Miss Nishigandha on their outstanding achievement.
