STUDENTS EXCEL AT YOUTH
ORCHESTRA OF MIDDLE EAST
Two students
from Indian School Muscat did the school proud recently
when they showed their excellent skills in Violin at the
prestigious Youth Orchestra of Middle East (YOME). These
two students Roshael Michael Bhakre of Class IX and
Oshein Michael Bhakre of Class VIII represented
Oman
at
Abu Dhabi
and
Dubai
from 13th April, 2011 to 15th
April, 2011.
These
two students were applauded by the dignitaries for their
high level artistic proficiency.
Patronised
by her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid
Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment and
wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential
Affairs, UAE, the course is an important cultural
initiative across the Middle east, focusing on
developing and nurturing the talent of young musicians
of all nationalities.
These
two ISM students performed brilliantly First and Second
Violin with the renowned and internationally acclaimed
conductor Peter Currie from
Scotland
and Alumni of Royal Academy of Music,
London
.
This
is a stupendous achievement by the ISM students Roshael
and Oshein among 62 students from the Middle Eastern
region of various nationalities which included
Americans, British, Irish, Emiratis, Indians and Iraqi
nationals.
