Principal  - Mr. Achuthan Madhav

Promoting excellence in school is a long drawn process which involves the coordination and support of the student community and their parents, school staff and the supportive management committee.

I am convinced thus far that we have attained reasonable score in combining above stake holders to promote and chase excellence at ISM.

This involves the determination and the goals of education and strategies that should be adopted to achieve the desired effect in our children and foster a learning society with a life long  habit for good education.

Primarily there are four pillars of education which stand out for excellence.  Learning to know (emphasis on knowledge acquisition), Learning to do (emphasis on working out applications), Learning to live together (to adopt beyond the school level) and  Learning to be (to grow up as a humanistic, helpful and contributing individual in later part of his/her life).

The four pillars, foster overall excellence in the person and  he/she  would be properly understood as being well educated.  In a  small measure we try to promote excellence of all these levels of education at ISM. Sometimes,  we are free to analyse them in the light of school base  cultural activities, sports activities, extensive enrichment programmes, work drills and practices of finest teaching methodologies followed by remedial work and extended evaluation of all these virtues.  We need to work hard to educate our children on the above  four parameters and make our children to be firm, patient and passionate about achieving success  in any field, with hard work, dedication  and perseverance.

Day in and day out, we pray to Almighty to help  us deliver positively on  some of the ideals outlined above.  Thus modern day schooling  at ISM is both challenging and tough, focusing on the positive and realistic goals as well as  meeting the expectations of the parents and maintaining a good  discipline, which gradually nurtures a good student life conducive to learning  and achieving  more than a good grade in the examinations.

I would like to inform our parents that apart from intensive academic sustained programmes at ISM,  the children have great enthusiasm in participating at  the cluster meets, inter-house athletic competitions, drama competitions, quiz competitions,  Embassy sponsored  art competitions, a wonderful participation in International Non-Violence day programme held at the Indian Embassy.  These  were salient performance achievements of the last few days.

We  look forward to a greater participation of our  children in the Olympiads, ACER examinations in the coming months.

 v     Gandhi Jayanti Assembly

Gandhi Jayanti Assembly was put up by the students of Std I and Std II on 4th of October. Students of Std III and Std IV had their assembly on the 5th. Children enacted scenes from the life of Mahatma Gandhi. Important episodes from Gandhiji’s life, like scenes from his childhood, fight for injustice, non violence and the Dandi March, were some of the topics which were highlighted in the assembly. The wonderful Gandhian values which is still revered today was all  brought alive again when children held placards showing hard work, simplicity, truth and discipline. This was indeed a wonderful occasion for Gandhian ideology and vision to be passed on to the younger generation.  Parents and students enjoyed the foot tapping dance and the songs.

 v     Hindi Divas Celebrations

The children had an opportunity to display their love for the Hindi language when they performed at the Indian Embassy on the Hindi Divas Celebrations held on the 7th of October. They put up a humorous skit called ‘Hindi Bolne Mee Sharm Kyon’? This was followed by the recitation of a poem called ‘Ma’. An entertaining Qawwali  programme  was also put up  by the students of ISM.

He adviced the children to look at the sky and study it as nature is a wonderful teacher.

Std IV students were initiated into the concepts of Vedic Mathematics by a Vedic Maths Teacher

Ms Sujaritha Raghavan. This was followed by a worksheet for the students to solve. They also had to fold and make a 3 D model of a cube and a worksheet on space activity.

Std III students put up humorous a skit ‘Mickey Maths ’followed by worksheets which kept the children busy and very much involved. They also learnt about numerals from other countries too.

The festive Season began with Gandhi Jayanti being celebrated on 2nd October. It was followed by the Navratri Dusshera Assembly on 19th of October. The air at Jibroo is electrified with the practice of Sports Day to be held on 3rd of November.

Gandhi Jayanti Assembly- Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at ISM Jibroo by the KG Department. The assembly was conducted by the children of KG I D and was organized by their class teacher under the guidance of the KG Supervisor, Mrs. Prema George. The special guest was Mrs. Dimple Barnes- administration coordinator- Institute of Auditors . She is also an alumni of ISM.

An array of white attire with sashes in orange, green, white and blue adorned the stage. Gandhi’s ideologies and philosophies of simple living were highlighted. The charka and the “Quit India” were showcased.

The assembly was a tribute to the Great Mahatma who ventured into the path of non-violence to bring about a phenomenal change in the history of Independent India.

Navratri-Dusshera Assembly- The Navratri and Dusshera Assembly was conducted at Jibroo. It  was organized by the children of  KG I E & F under the guidance of the their class teachers and KG Supervisor Mrs. Prema George. Amongst the august gathering we had our Principal, Mr. Achutan Madhav and the Vice- Principal of the Primary Section, Mr. Anand Prabhu and the parents of the children of both the classes.

An aura of festive gaiety prevailed in the campus. The show began with the children presenting a tableau depicting the story of Dusshera. The decoration of dolls-“golu” – the South Indian tradition of celebrating Navratri was novel and brilliantly set with lights and fancy arrangements.

To add to the fun, pomp and show, a tantalizing dance number- a dandiya by the children took the audience in a wave of dance mania. A visual treat it was to see the adults become one with  children and take the show in their stride, fast music to match their mesmerizing steps, the dance was a major hit. The right way to kickstart the festive season from Navratri through Eid until Christmas.

Children of the Kindergarten were taken for a picnic to the Riyam Park which the children thoroughly enjoyed with all their friends and teachers.
