Message from
Principal
- Mr. Achuthan Madhav
Promoting
excellence in school is a
long drawn process which
involves the coordination and
support of the student
community and their parents,
school staff and the
supportive management
committee.
I am convinced thus far
that we have attained
reasonable score in combining
above stake holders to
promote and chase excellence
at ISM.
This
involves the determination
and the goals of education
and strategies that should be
adopted to achieve the
desired effect in our
children and foster a
learning society with a life
long
habit for good
education.
Primarily
there are four pillars of
education which stand out for
excellence.
Learning
to know (emphasis on
knowledge acquisition), Learning
to do (emphasis on
working out applications), Learning
to live together (to
adopt beyond the school
level) and Learning
to be (to grow up as a
humanistic, helpful and
contributing individual in
later part of his/her life).
The
four pillars, foster overall
excellence in the person and
he/she would
be properly understood as
being well educated.
In a
small measure we try
to promote excellence of all
these levels of education at
ISM. Sometimes, we
are free to analyse them in
the light of school base cultural
activities, sports
activities, extensive
enrichment programmes, work
drills
and practices of finest
teaching methodologies
followed by remedial work and
extended evaluation of all
these virtues.
We need to work hard
to educate our children on
the above four
parameters and make our
children to be firm, patient
and passionate about
achieving success in
any field, with hard work,
dedication and
perseverance.
Day
in and day out, we pray to
Almighty to help
us deliver positively
on some
of the ideals outlined above.
Thus modern day
schooling at
ISM is both challenging and
tough, focusing on the
positive and realistic goals
as well as meeting
the expectations of the
parents and maintaining a
good discipline,
which gradually nurtures a
good student life conducive
to learning and
achieving
more than a good grade
in the examinations.
I
would like to inform our
parents that apart from
intensive academic sustained
programmes at ISM, the
children have great
enthusiasm in participating
at the
cluster
meets, inter-house athletic
competitions, drama
competitions, quiz
competitions,
Embassy
sponsored art
competitions, a wonderful
participation in International
Non-Violence day programme held
at the Indian Embassy.
These were
salient performance
achievements of the last few
days.
We
look forward to a
greater participation of our children
in the Olympiads, ACER
examinations in the coming
months.
I
take this opportunity
to wish all our parents and
well wishers a very happy
Christmas and a happy New
Year.

the CCE.
-
The
26 th Of April, 2010 was a
memorable day for all the
students, staff and
parents of the primary
section of Indian School
Muscat as 75 of our very
own children were invested
as blossoms. The ceremony
commenced with the
lighting of the lamp by
the Principal and the
other members of the ISM
family. The qualities of
the blossom were
highlighted. What each
letter of the word “
BLOSSOM” stood for was
conveyed effectively. The
letter
B---
emphasized that the student
chosen as a blossom is
brilliant, bold, believable
and
brisk.
L---- showed that he/she is
lovable, likeable, loyal and
also luminous.
O----
reflects that he/she is
obedientiary, obliging and
open-minded too.
S-----
signifies that he/she is
sportive, scholarly and
sassy.
S-----
tells that the Blossom is
sincere, sensitive and
skilful.
O-----
means that he/she is
organized , optimistic and
officious.
M----
conveys to us that they are
methodical, meticulous and
modest too.
The
Principal administered the
oath and told the children to
tread on the right path and
lead others by his/her own
example. It is in their power
to create an environment of
happiness. Shanaya Pandey and
Saloni Shah took the pledge
on behalf of the students
promising to do their best.
According to the Vice-
Principal of the primary
section, Mr. Anand Prabhu,
“Each one should do their
duty as a mark of service to
mankind doing the right thing
at the right time.”After
the pinning of badges by the
various Heads of Departments
of the school, the proud
blossoms ventured out ready
to meet the challenges of
maintaining discipline and
order in the school
Kindergarten
SuperVisor - Mrs. Prema
George
The
Kindergarten classes began
their academic session on 3rd
April for all KG II classes.
On the 5th April, the classes
from KG I A-F started their
session and on 7th
April, the classes from KG I
G-K. The Parent Orientation
Programme was on 3rd
and 5th April. The
Special Assemblies for the
month were
Easter-
The Easter Assembly was held
at Jibroo on 13.4.10.
The KG Supervisor Mrs.
Prema George presided over
the assembly. The children of
KG II F enacted the Easter
song, emphasizing on the
prominent Easter symbols-
Eggs, Bunnies, Jelly Beans
and baskets. Eggs were being
hatched and bunnies hopping
around jelly beans showing
colour and the baskets
brimming with leashed bread
provided a new meaning to the
word “rejuvenation”.
Welcoming the “newness”
and a novelty into a mundane
life, this easter has brought
out its message in loud
terms. Under the guidance of
the KG Supervisor and the
Class teachers, the children
enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt.
So to surmise, the first
assembly for this academic
year did begin with a big
bang.
Kindergarten
Day- Kindergarten Day was
celebrated at ISM Jibroo on
21st April. To
commemorate the founder
Fredric Froebel’s Birthday,
the children of KG I –I
organized an assembly. The
event was presided over by
the Chief Guest Mr. S.Sheriff,
Vice-Principal, Middle
Section. He was accompanied
by the Assistant
Vice-Principal, Mr.
J.Zakariya and the KG
Supervisor, Mrs. Prema
George. The tiny ones put up
an endearing depiction of a
day in a kindergarten class.
Agile limbs and innovative
minds set about to make the
best of the day with activity
based learning. Pedagogy and
methodology incorporated with
Montessori Teaching
Techniques were expounded in
lucid terms. Nursery Rhymes
“Two little feet” and
“K.I.N. and D…”
were received with
much enthusiasm by the
audience. The KG children
were all attired in red and
they posed an appeasing
sight. With juice packs and
goodies being distributed the
children enjoyed the day and
the teachers enjoyed making
the day a memorable one for
their tiny tots.
Summer
Assembly- To welcome the
summer season, an assembly
was conducted at Jibroo. Our
Principal, Mr.Achutan Madhav
presided over the show. Under
the guidance of our KG
Supervisor and the class
teacher, the children of KG
I-B organized an assembly to
welcome the summer season.
Delving into the bright
summer heat, getting rid of
the dead wood and ushering in
a new era of plans, dreams
and wishes, tackling the
seasonal obstacles their way
with typical verve, the
children of KG I-B
enlightened the audience of
ways to shimmer in spite of
the scorching heat.
