Message from
Principal
- Mr. Achuthan Madhav
Promoting
excellence in school is a
long drawn process which
involves the coordination and
support of the student
community and their parents,
school staff and the
supportive management
committee.
I am convinced thus far
that we have attained
reasonable score in combining
above stake holders to
promote and chase excellence
at ISM.
This
involves the determination
and the goals of education
and strategies that should be
adopted to achieve the
desired effect in our
children and foster a
learning society with a life
long
habit for good
education.
Primarily
there are four pillars of
education which stand out for
excellence.
Learning
to know (emphasis on
knowledge acquisition), Learning
to do (emphasis on
working out applications), Learning
to live together (to
adopt beyond the school
level) and Learning
to be (to grow up as a
humanistic, helpful and
contributing individual in
later part of his/her life).
The
four pillars, foster overall
excellence in the person and
he/she would
be properly understood as
being well educated.
In a
small measure we try
to promote excellence of all
these levels of education at
ISM. Sometimes, we
are free to analyse them in
the light of school base cultural
activities, sports
activities, extensive
enrichment programmes, work
drills
and practices of finest
teaching methodologies
followed by remedial work and
extended evaluation of all
these virtues.
We need to work hard
to educate our children on
the above four
parameters and make our
children to be firm, patient
and passionate about
achieving success in
any field, with hard work,
dedication and
perseverance.
Day
in and day out, we pray to
Almighty to help
us deliver positively
on some
of the ideals outlined above.
Thus modern day
schooling at
ISM is both challenging and
tough, focusing on the
positive and realistic goals
as well as meeting
the expectations of the
parents and maintaining a
good discipline,
which gradually nurtures a
good student life conducive
to learning and
achieving
more than a good grade
in the examinations.
I
would like to inform our
parents that apart from
intensive academic sustained
programmes at ISM, the
children have great
enthusiasm in participating
at the
cluster
meets, inter-house athletic
competitions, drama
competitions, quiz
competitions,
Embassy
sponsored art
competitions, a wonderful
participation in International
Non-Violence day programme held
at the Indian Embassy.
These were
salient performance
achievements of the last few
days.
We
look forward to a
greater participation of our children
in the Olympiads, ACER
examinations in the coming
months.
I
take this opportunity
to wish all our parents and
well wishers a very happy
Christmas and a happy New
Year.

The
grand finale of the
Personality Development
Programme of the Primary
Section was held on Thursday,
4th march at 8 am.
In the school hall. This was
the culmination of 8 weeks of
training imparted to the
students of Std 111 and 1V.
There were a total of 279
students who actively took
part in this programme The
selection for this programme
was done judicially. A team
of highly dedicated teachers
were involved in training
these children. The chief
guest for the programme was
Dr Keshav Mandadi, Assistant
Professor SQU and Mr Ramesh.
They were accompanied by the
Principal Mr Achuthan Madhav,
Vice Principal Mr Anand
Prabhu and the AVP Mrs
Lalitha Premkumar. Mrs
Shailini Robinson, the
coordinator of the PDP
programme welcomed the
gathering..
Amongst
those who stole the show were
the little stalwarts who made
a clean sweep in
‘Monoacting’ showing
their theatrical skills. Some
of the scenes enacted by the
participants were ‘What
would be one’s reaction
when hail stones fall on us
instead of rain drops?’
‘How would it be to win a
lottery when you have a huge
debt to pay..’
To do very well in
impromptu speeches is one of
the most difficult challenges
every one faces across the
world. The ISM primary
children proved their mettle
effortlessly taking this
challenge to startling new
heights of excellence when
they spoke on topics like‘The
first day at ISM’, ‘If
I were invisible for a day
and so on.
The
teachers’ dedication in
molding the children and
watching them perform with
such exuberance and
excellence brings pride and a
glorious sense of
achievement. They always
bravely venture into new
frontiers and try their best
to encourage children in all
areas where no child is left
behind but ‘everyone is
made to feel like a winner’
Mrs
Rita Pais proposed the vote
of thanks at the end of the
programme.

With
soul stirring music, peppy
dialogues, astounding dance
numbers, thought provoking
messages and evocative morals

the audience spellbound
anticipating a phenomenal
