Message from
Principal
- Mr. Achuthan Madhav
Promoting
excellence in school is a
long drawn process which
involves the coordination and
support of the student
community and their parents,
school staff and the
supportive management
committee.
I am convinced thus far
that we have attained
reasonable score in combining
above stake holders to
promote and chase excellence
at ISM.
This
involves the determination
and the goals of education
and strategies that should be
adopted to achieve the
desired effect in our
children and foster a
learning society with a life
long
habit for good
education.
Primarily
there are four pillars of
education which stand out for
excellence.
Learning
to know (emphasis on
knowledge acquisition), Learning
to do (emphasis on
working out applications), Learning
to live together (to
adopt beyond the school
level) and Learning
to be (to grow up as a
humanistic, helpful and
contributing individual in
later part of his/her life).
The
four pillars, foster overall
excellence in the person and
he/she would
be properly understood as
being well educated.
In a
small measure we try
to promote excellence of all
these levels of education at
ISM. Sometimes, we
are free to analyse them in
the light of school base cultural
activities, sports
activities, extensive
enrichment programmes, work
drills
and practices of finest
teaching methodologies
followed by remedial work and
extended evaluation of all
these virtues.
We need to work hard
to educate our children on
the above four
parameters and make our
children to be firm, patient
and passionate about
achieving success in
any field, with hard work,
dedication and
perseverance.
Day
in and day out, we pray to
Almighty to help
us deliver positively
on some
of the ideals outlined above.
Thus modern day
schooling at
ISM is both challenging and
tough, focusing on the
positive and realistic goals
as well as meeting
the expectations of the
parents and maintaining a
good discipline,
which gradually nurtures a
good student life conducive
to learning and
achieving
more than a good grade
in the examinations.
I
would like to inform our
parents that apart from
intensive academic sustained
programmes at ISM, the
children have great
enthusiasm in participating
at the
cluster
meets, inter-house athletic
competitions, drama
competitions, quiz
competitions,
Embassy
sponsored art
competitions, a wonderful
participation in International
Non-Violence day programme held
at the Indian Embassy.
These were
salient performance
achievements of the last few
days.
We
look forward to a
greater participation of our children
in the Olympiads, ACER
examinations in the coming
months.
I
take this opportunity
to wish all our parents and
well wishers a very happy
Christmas and a happy New
Year.

As
the New Year dawned at Jibroo
the Kindergarten section
enjoyed a whole lot of
“happenstances”.
Beginning with the “Welcome
New Year” on every soft
board, the children were
embraced with warm wishes as
they entered the campus on
9th Jan 2010
.
The
Spectrum of colours was
demonstrated and the
vibrancies of the seven
colours explained as
experiments were conducted to
expatiate “light has seven
colours”. This was followed
by the bubble game. Amidst a
lot of delightful squeaks and
animated screams the children
blew soap bubbles into the
air to give new meaning to
the word “COLOUR”. As the
rainbow song played on, the
saying “it takes sunshine
and rain to bring a
rainbow” was remembered.
On

assemblies depicting Pongal
and Makar Sankranthi were
presented by children of KG
II-K
& KG II-L.The
children of KG
II-K presented Utrayan, a
kite flying utsav and
distributed sesame sweets.
The children of KG II-L
created an ambiance of a
typical south Indian farm.
With a farm house as back
drop, a pongal pot on fire,
sugarcane and cattle, Pongal
celebration was in full
swing. As detailed
description was made about
the four days of pongal the
chorus “Pongaloo Pongal”
was an apt back ground score
to the folklore.

the day was Country Head of

ones came marching in, the
Army, Navy and Air force
uniforms highlighted the
parade. Children dressed in
the traditional attire of
each state walked across the
stage singing “Hum Hai
Hundastani” to depict
unity in diversity. As
patriotic songs were sung and
enacted the audience sat with
patriotic fervor watching the
show spell bound. The Chief
guest Mr.Ramesh Naidu
appreciated the little ones
on their endeavour. The
national anthem was sung and
every individual stood with
intergrity and pride saluting
the Nation and the National
leaders.
Yet
another “ Aqua- Feast” on
the concept of float and sink
was conducted on 20th
Jan. The Children of KG-11
had an exquisite learning
experience as they witnessed
a float and sink experiment
being explored. The spatial
concept was explored as
various objects like
feathers, leaves, plastic,
stones, magnets etc were
dramatically immersed in
water. A sequel to enrich
this educative endeavor
followed. A story secession
of
“The
clever crow” who filled the
jar with pebbles to drink the
water –
a
prologue to displacement of
water. The happenstances
continue.
