NEW ISM MULTIPURPOSE HALL INAUGURATED

 

The state of art multipurpose hall with extensive facilities and global standards was inaugurated at Indian School Muscat on Friday, 15th August 2008 by H.E Shri Anil Wadhwa, the Ambassador of India to the Sultanate,  coinciding with 62nd anniversary of India ’s independence.  

Several dignitaries and VIPs who attended the ceremony included Mr. Yusuf Nalwalla, Chairman, BOD, Indian Schools in Oman , Mr. Deepak Bradoo, President, SMC, ISM, Convenor Mr. Kursan Kurian, and members of the present and past SMC.

H.E. the Ambassador was welcomed by the President and members of the SMC and the school Principal with a bouquet of flowers .  The Chief Guest inaugurated the MPH by cutting the ribbon and lighting the traditional lamp which is symbolic of the motto of the school “Kindled to Enlighten”.  The Head Boy Aditya Kurian and his team escorted the Chief Guest to witness the excellence edifice that was constructed with global standards to provide the optimal holistic education which is the very best in the region.  

The ISM family expresses its gratitude to the noble benevolence and generosity of H.M. Sultan Qaboos Bin Said and his Government.  They also expressed their sincere gratitude to the officials of Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of International Schools Office and Muscat Municipality for their cooperation and support in different developmental stages of the school.  

The Chief Guest, despite his extremely busy and pressing schedules especially on India ’s independence day gave his valuable time and perpetual leadership support and abundantly illuminated the programme events by witnessing several infrastructural facilities such as state of art auditorium, 27 modern class rooms with inbuilt technology application.  

The Ambassador was briefed about the history of the hall.  It was the dream of many past Presidents and members of SMC to construct a state of art MPH.  Several thoughts and ideas with immeasurable creative inputs have gone into planning a state of art multi functional hall meeting global standards.   

The present managing committee body and the building projects sub committee gave final shape to the hall, utilizing the services of leading consultants in Oman – M/s National Engineering Office and leading contracting firm M/s Teejan Trading Co. who enormously mobilized their effort and constructed the building as it stands now.  

The school auditorium can accommodate 1600 persons with finest audio and lighting facilities with an annex of 27 class rooms built in 3 floors and an elevator to facilitate the movements of the children.  

The entire building structure has been planned to occupy without wasting any space.  Basket ball,  volley ball and badminton games can be held in the hall.   

The generosity and contribution of time and energy by all the past and existing SMC members who have visualized, conceptualized and shaped their views to the present form is acknowledged with greatest respect and regrds  by all parents of the school.   

The effort of the successive and present SMC members culminated with the auspicious inauguration of the MPH  by H.E.  Shri Anil Wadhwa, the Ambassador of India who along with all the esteemed dignitaries dedicated the state of art auditorium to the children.
