ISM CELEBRATES MAY DAY

May 1st  is known to many of us as May Day, Labor Day or even as International Workers' Day. While the world celebrated & remembered the day for the struggle and fight for the rights of workers, the students of Indian School Muscat celebrated May Day by recognizing the dedicated service and importance  of a group of working class people whose hard work and contribution is often forgotten or at times taken for granted.

The student council  members of  ISM did open their heart to express their gratitude and thanking to all blue collard staff who make our living and learning at school comfortable every day of the year. A grand  lunch was organized  for them. The day started by tracing back the history of MAY DAY in India . Students then expressed their deepest gratitude to the staff speaking with motivational speech in more familiar languages like  Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu apart from  English. The school Principal Mr. Achuthan Madhav spoke about the dedicated service of the staff whose sole purpose was to make the lives of others comfortable. He reminded the teachers & students that the process of  education would not happen but for the dedicated service of those new round the clock, who ensure that  the school premises was always clean and tidy.  This sets a good climate for teaching learning process to take place.  The principal also applauded the members of all  student council for their most thoughtful devine gesture to organize an event associated with working class. He urged them that they should continue the good work  throughout  their lives by serving the society with a human face.

The students expressed their paramount joy of giving and expressing gratitude by giving  a gift hamper for each of the staff,. This which was made possible by the generosity of Lakhoos, Ramaniklal B Kothary (Nivia), Muscat Pharmacy, Al Nadha Trading & Jumbo Electronics.

The main attraction of the day is contribution of 21 inch TV by M/s Jumbo Electronics as a gesture to  honour the staff of ISM blue collared staff.  The grand prize was won by Mr. Venu of Al Nabha.   Several other prizes were given away to the staff. The event concluded with a sumptious meal which was served by the council member students. This sensuous, affectionate and  remarkable effort by the students of Indian School Muscat was greatly appreciated by all.
