Indian
School Muscat has a tradition of honoring its top
academic rankers in all classes.
The Annual Academic Awards for the session
2007-08 was conferred to 301 outstanding and top
position holders of each class on
Thursday, 24th April 2008
in the school auditorium.
The
Chief Guest of the occasion was H.E. Shukoor Bint
Mohammed Bin Salim Al Ghammari, Member of Majlis Al
Daula (State Council). The other dignitaries attending
the ceremony included Mr. Deepak Bradoo, President and
members of the Indian School Muscat Managing Committee.
The proud parents of the academic awardees attended the
function with great enthusiasm
The
Asst. Head Boy of the school Master Aditya Kurian
welcomed the august gathering and the Asst. Head Girl
Ms. Nikita Benson welcomed the Chief Guest with flowers.
Principal,
Mr. Achuthan Madhav owed the progress of the school to
the benevolence of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.
He also thanked the Department of Private Education and
the Embassy of India for their support and encouragement
in all the activities of the school. He complemented all
the prize winners and their parents. He
mentioned that presenting the awards is an enormous
source of motivation to students to perform well in the
future academics. He
greatly acknowledged the support of the School Managing
Committee for their untiring and devotional efforts in
providing the best of infrastructure facilities in the
school for achieving academic excellence. He also
reiterated the commitment and academic expertise of the
ISM staff in realizing this goal and guiding the
students to achieve academic excellence and to meet the
expectations of the parents.

Shukoor Bint Mohammed Bin Salim Al Ghammari gave away
the mementos to the top ranking students for achieving
academic excellence.
All students who secured an aggregate score of
95% and above in Std. V and VI level and 94% and above
in Std. VII level; 93% and above in Std. VIII level are
eligible for the meritorious award as per the school
criteria. The
senior secondary classes however had to secure 90% and
above in Std. IX and 85% and above in Std. XI to be
eligible for the prestigious merit award.
The
school choir included 36 boys and girls who enthralled
the audience and added musical ambience to the function.
The school orchestra, team too added color with
popular musical lyrics.
Abigail
Lobo and Stephanie Leah Sam brilliantly compeered and
coordinated the event, while Nikita Benson proposed the
vote of thanks with eloquence.
