ISM HOSTS
GERMAN STUDENTS
Five students from the prestigious school
GYMNASIUM IM STIFT NEUZELLE,
Germany
led by their Group In-charge Mr. Rainer Karge are
currently on a visit to
Indain School Muscat as a part of an Exchange
Programme.
The
group comprising two girls Anne Kunze, Sarah Tiedeke and
three boys Benjamin Bergau, Falk Schneider and Maciej
Wesoly arrived in
Muscat
on
23rd January, 2008
. They will be leaving on
23rd February, 2008
.
The
visiting students have a well planned itinerary. They
have already visited local sites including the famed
Grand Mosque, the
Inter-Con
Beach
and the
Qantab
Beach
. They got a taste of Arabian culture during their visit
to Wahiba Sands and Muttrah Souq. They have had
opportunities to attend classes in the
Senior
School
. In addition, they attended the 32nd
Athletic Meet and Drill Display, the Republic Day and
the Annual Day functions of the school. A special
assembly was held on
5th February, 2008
where the visiting students enthralled the gathering
with the German Anthem, a German song and finally a
Hindi song which they painstakingly learnt.
They
are getting a first hand experience of Indian
hospitality as they are staying with students from
Indian School Muscat. The hosts include Mukulika Sisodia,
Tasha D’Silva, Aaditya Gupta, Nilesh Vatsyayan and Sun
Hao.
That
the experience has been a mutually enriching one is
evident from the eager, bright faces of the students.
Says Sarah, “I find the people here very nice and
friendly”. “
Muscat
is so clean and beautiful” commented Falk. And what
was the part they enjoyed the most? “Food!” they
quipped typically like teenagers all over the world.
