Report on Exhibitions - Primary Section
Exhibitions are steps to life long learning.
Exhibitions foster team spirit, creativity and innovation.
These qualities were clearly evident in the Annual exhibition
of classes 1V and III of the Primary Section held on Feb 14
and 19 respectively. It was a uniquely different from the
earlier exhibitions because it encompassed all the subjects
including Music, Art, Dance, PE, Computers and Cubs and
Bulbuls too. What made this exhibition more exciting was that
it was made very interactive with live demonstrations of
dance, drama and music and a host of fun activities.
The World of Little Einsteins had many models and
experiments. Balanced diet was displayed using food items.
Nests of weaver birds were attractive.
Importance of plants on sustaining the environment was
also one of the many projects on display.
The World of Mathematics showcased many interactive
games, puzzles and magic squares. Models of different shapes
and measurements were on display.
The
Land
of
Social Studies
had handicrafts of
many states attractively displayed. A power point presentation
on Dances of India was also part of the exhibition. Crops of
India
, models
of Red Fort, Lotus temple etc. were neatly arranged.
The English theatre was really a crowd puller. Children
dramatized a few lines from popular fairy tales and the
spectators had to guess the characters being enacted.
In addition to this, there were skits, poems, jokes and
tongue twisters recited by the children with amazing
confidence and skill.
The Hindi exhibition saw the children dressed up as
national heroes who enacted the part with
aplomb. Festivals like ‘The burning of Holika’ and
preparing ‘Pongal’ were creatively displayed.
The children danced to the Bhangra beat of
Punjab
and the Dandiya of
Gujarat in the Dance Room. The basic steps of the various
forms of classical and folk dances were presented by children
with grace . Proud parents also watched the show with
enthusiasm.
The exhibition in Music was also unique because the
children gave live demonstrations of the various musical
instruments being used.
The computer exhibition saw many interesting displays of
computer paraphernalia, like the CPU, keyboard, monitor made
with different materials.
The Physical Education exhibition had many charts on
yoga. The sports equipments used by cricket players like
glove, pad, helmet etc were on display. The games, rules etc.
were explained by the students.
The Art exhibition saw the culmination of the entire
year’s art work on display. It was a visual delight to all.
Last but not the least, beautiful utilitarian items made
of waste materials were decoratively arranged as Cubs and
Bulbul exhibits. This exhibition spoke volumes for the
children’s talent which was honed to perfection by the apt
guidance of the teachers.
We
at the Indian
School Muscat continue with our zeal and fervour to do things
differently.
