ISM STUDENTS EXCEL IN THE GREEN OLYMPIAD EXAMINATION

The Green Olympiad is India’s first national level environment examination for school children held annually in India and abroad. Launched in 1999 on Earth Day (22nd April), this annual initiative focuses attention on environmental concerns and needs of the present and the future.

Tata Energy and Resources Institute (TERI ) launched this examination, which is designed in an innovative manner so as to test the knowledge of students and also educate and sensitize them in the process.

186 students participated in this examination from all the Indian schools in the city. Indian school Muscat was the host school consecutively for the second time and fielded 132 students the remaining students were from the capital area. The examination was held for classes VIII, IX, and X on 8th September 2005. Rushi Bhavsar of class X stood first in the school and 12th internationally. Surhud Vaidya of class X , Shalaka Pai and Neel Bavesh of class IX secured second rank in the school and 95th rank internationally. Rushi Bhavsar and Vivek Wali of Indian school Muscat were the winners of TERRA QUIZ TROPHY and Hero Honda Environment Ambassadors for the year 2004-2005 .
