ON UNO
ISM celebrated the 64th
United Nations
Day with a great deal of zeal and enthusiasm.
The programme put up by the students of classes 5
and 6 kept the audience in rapt attention, as the
speakers educated them on the origin, importance, need
and contribution made by the United Nations
Organization.
Students
clad in different costumes, representing the various
countries, spoke about the successful efforts of the UNO,
in helping the development of countries like
Sri Lanka
,
Congo
,
Ethiopia
,
Egypt
, South Korea etc. often affected by natural and
man-made disasters.
This was followed by a beautiful rendition of a
song that spread the message of the need for peace and
understanding between all the nations of the world.
The programme concluded with a vow to hold hands
and uphold the ideals of the UN, based on peace,
security and progress.
ISM
CONDUCTS QUIZ ON UNITED NATIONS
The UN day was commemorated with a UN Quiz
conducted by the department of Social Sciences in the
middle section. This
was as a gesture to enhance the importance of peace and
harmony and to further educate the students about the
role, objectives and functions of the UN.
Students of class 5 went through preliminary and
semi final before the six final teams were selected.
Trophies were awarded to the winning team and the
runner-up.
