GOODWILL
GESTURE BY ISM CHILDREN
Happiness concern to others is
a state of
mind wherein we find peace and fulfillment. It is this
single glorious thing which is the light and good
thoughts emanating from the minds of children, to bring
gladness and supreme comfort similar in other
fellow children.
This
is what the student council of Indian School Muscat
dreamt of raising funds to aid the children touched by
cancer at
Sultan
Qaboos
University
Hospital
through an innovative FULFILLING
DREAMS
project – a charity show featuring internationally
popular rock band PARIKARAMA which performed at the Qurum Amphi Theatre.
A large number of generous sponsors and
well-wishers of ISM supported the mega event and
strengthened the students to resolve to do the community
projects in the country where we live in.
Dr.
Ahmed Al Mandhari, Deputy
Director General of Sultan Qaboos University Hospital
and Dr. Yasser Wali, Head, Department of Child Health
– SQUH, both
represented the SQUH to receive the ISM contributory
cheque for RO.20,000/-
from the boys dean Aditya Kurian and girls dean Nikita
Benson in the presence of Vice-President SMC Mr. Vimal
Purecha and other members of the School Managing
Committee on 1st November 2008.
The
commendable efforts of ISM Student Council has planted
seeds of love, service, compassion, friendship and paved
way to know life as a privilege to serve our brotherhood
and spread humanitarian gesture especially to the
children affected by cancer. This eventually
will enable the children in school to
brace themselves to such causes in the Sultanate
and endure the services alongside the school education
and make it a service as
they grow beyond the school.
In
his concluding address, Dr. Ahmed Al Mandhari, Deputy
Director General of
Sultan
Qaboos
University
Hospital
and Dr. Yasser Wali, Head, Department of Child Health thanked
ISM for their innovative effort and excellent services
unmatched in the school segment to the cause of cancer
affected children
at
SQU
Hospital
.
He also emphasized that this unique venture by the
students of ISM, wherein gifting money is not an issue
and what is more important is the goodwill gesture shown
by ISM children to other children.
This is a great move which need to be appreciated
by all in the society.
