ASSEMBLY ON NAVARATHRI AND DUSSEHRA

BY ISM KG AND STD. 1 STUDENTS

The Kindergarten section of Indian School Muscat at Jibroo, wore a festive look on the 19th of October 2008, when the assembly on Navarathri and Dussehra was performed by the students of KG and Std. 1 joined in with their Dhandia sticks in hand.

The children of KG explained the significance of the festival  one by one, and then a group of girls performed the Garba dance.  A group of boys in the traditional dress danced the “Dhandia” for a catchy tune.  One more group danced the traditional dance of Navarathri.

The significance of the “Dussehra” was brought forth by the children of KG by enacting a skit on the story of Rama and Ravana.  Later all the children of the class performed a dance which was appreciated by one and all.

The children of first standard enacted a skit to explain the significance of Dussehra.  The fight between Rama and Ravana was very well  enacted.  Then the girls of the first standard performed a dance to the  tune of a catchy song.

The Principal, Admin. Manager and KG Supervisor all attended the programme.

The children of various sections of nursery, Kindergarten and first standard, the parents of the participants and all the teachers appreciated the efforts of the students by a great round of applause.
