ONAM ASSEMBLY – PRIMRY SECTION

In keeping with the spirit of the season, the students of the primary section of Indian School Muscat celebrated Onam with proud and gaiety.

Onam is a festival signifying harvest and is celebrated in Kerala ( India ) with traditional dances, Onam songs, colourful flower decorations, grand feasts and boat races.  It is on this day that King Mahabali pays his annual visit to Kerala, also known as God’s own country.

The ‘Thalapoli’ was enacted by the students wherein Akashnath K G (IV-C) dressed as King Mahabali visited  ISM and wished the gathering.  The students performed special Onam dance to litting music around a traditional lit brass lamp which was beautifully decorated with colourful flowers.

An Onam song was sung by a few teachers who, along with the contribution of Ms. Shaila Murali, Ms. Roja T, Ms. Divya J, Ms. Apolonia J, Ms. Lekha M, Ms. Usha Main, Mr. Sajeev MD (teachers in the primary section) made this festive occasion memorable for one and all.
