TEACHER’S
DAY AT ISM
The Teachers’ Day Celebrations at
the Indian School Muscat held on 16th
September 2008, turned out to be a perfect blend of
grandeur and cordiality. This function organised by the
Members of the School Managing Committee was meticulous
since even the worries of the isolated little ones at
home were taken care of. Dressed in traditional and
ethnic attire, the teachers and their spouses were
accorded an evening of fun and entertainment and the
atmosphere was filled with laughter and gaiety. The
grand new multi purpose hall at ISM rendered just the
right ambience for the occasion.
The
programme was inaugurated with a tribute to Dr. S.
Radhakrishnan, the great Indian philosopher. The tribute
was in the form of a musical rendering by the Vice
Principal of the Primary Section, Mr. Anand Prabhu and
by an interesting dialogue on what God had to go through
while creating the first ever teacher. The Masters of
Ceremony with their lively repartee ensured that every
moment was lively that evening. This was followed by
lucky draws at periodic intervals with winners walking
away with fabulous prizes. A tambola event and spot
questions ensured that as many of the audience walked
away a winner that day. One event that revealed that
every teacher despite
his or her age still harbours the spirit of a child, was
made explicit by the excitement and enthusiasm displayed
by the teachers when they were given a creative task to
complete within the stipulated time.
The fun filled and entertaining evening came to
an end with a sumptuous dinner providing memories that
would remain for years to come.
