Mr. Edgar Conferred The Highest Honour
In 1973 when Master
Ainsley Leonard Edgar received the best student award from the then
President of India V.V.Giri, he would have never thought even in his
wildest of dreams that another medal would follow after thirty years for
being the best teacher in the national level.
Mr. Edgar began his teaching career in 1976 as a senior English Master at
St. Paul’s Mission School, Calcutta. He became the Vice Principal of St.
Peters, Panjagini in 1985 from where he moved to Indian Embassy School
Sana as Principal. After being in Yemen for five years, he went on to
Baroda for a short while as Principal of IPCL. He became the Principal of
Ideal Indian School, Doha in 1996 and since March 2004 ISM has the
honour of having Mr. Edgar at the helm.
During this period Mr. Edgar served as the Secretary and Chairman of the
Council of CBSE affiliated schools in the Gulf.
2006
Vivek Wali -
IT Prodigy
It is a matter of great pride and honour for the Indian School Muscat that
one of our class XII students Vivek Wali, has been crowned as IT Prodigy
of the year 2006 in a Quiz competition organized by the Times of Oman daily on
7th December,2006 at
the City Amphitheatre,Qurum. He has won this title in the year 2005
also. The quiz was
conducted by one of the best ever quizmasters of India - Giri
Balasubramaniam. The Quiz gave an insight into the different ways
information technology has touched our lives. Vivek Wali has also
represented ISM for the Hero Honda Terraquiz in India in the year 2004 and
has been made the Hero Honda Ambassador when he won the Terraquiz trophy
along with Rushi Bhavsar of ISM.

SCHOOL MUSCAT LIFTS ZEE MIDDLE EAST QUIZ CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY
Walking down the aisle of success and glory Indian
School Muscat earned top spot in the Quiz competition
organised by Zee TV in Dubai last week.
In the
first ever 2006 Zee Middle East School Quiz, Indian School
Muscat students showed their intellectual acumen and reigned
supreme overshadowing top 155 schools from Bahrain, Qatar, UAE,
Kuwait and Oman.

ISM stalwarts Pranav Laxman of Class
X and Abhijith Anil of
Class IX with their sterling and scintillating performance
captured all moments to join the top 27 teams for the initial
quarter final round where they were pitted with Modern
High School Dubai and Philippine
School Doha. They
entered the semi finals with ease where they had to compete
with Our Own English High School Sharjah and Indian School Ras
Al Khaimah. In
this round too they were ahead which qualified them to enter
the final where they had DPS Sharjah and DPS Dubai to contend
with. Indian
School Muscat constantly were in the lead and finally bagged
the overall trophy with ease.
With
ardour and passion the two ISM students ventured into the
world of sports, literature, entertainment, lifestyle,
environment, nutrition, natural sciences and current affairs
and with tremendous ease bedazzled everyone.
