ISM CELEBRATES WORLD
‘NO TOBACCO DAY’
Indian
School Muscat celebrated ‘World No Tobacco Day’ with
various activities in the school with great enthusiasm
on Monday 31st May 2010. The students of ISM
Health & Eco Club displayed placards with slogans
like SAY NO TO TOBACCO and SAY NO TO SMOKING in the
morning assembly. A detailed information on World No
Tobacco Day celebrated by WHO was read out by N.D.Deepak
of Class XII-B, the student Coordinator of the Club. The
Principal and Admin Manager
also stressed on the need of a tobacco and smoke
free world.
Later,
during the recess, the students of the Health and Eco
Club carried out an awareness campaign on the school
campus led by Class Coordinators of the Club, Aarjav
Kothari (Class-IX), Nishigandha Kelkar (Class-X), Anjali
Mariappan (Class-XI), and N.D.Deepak (Class-XII).
Pamphlets with information on the negative effects of
tobacco and smoking were distributed among students and
parents as a part of the ‘NO TO TOBACCO’ campaign.
ISM
Health and Eco Club observed month of May as the No
Tobacco Month. Students prepared posters and displayed
them in all classrooms with messages on the negative
effects of the use of tobacco. A seminar was also
conducted on the ‘Effects of Tobacco use’ in the
school by Dr.Seema Bhandari. Mr.Biju Varghese, a teacher
from senior section and incharge of Health & Eco
Club Coordinated the World No Tobacco Day programme in
school.
