HOLDS JUNIOR PREFECTS INVESTITURE CEREMONY-MIDDLE
SECTION
The
Investiture Ceremony of the Junior Prefectorial Council,
in the Middle Section of Indian School Muscat was held
on
the 9th of May, 2010
. 55 boys and 53 girls were formally invested as
Prefects by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ajeet Walavalkar, the
Principal, and other dignitaries of Indian School
Muscat.
The
solemn function commenced with the auspicious lighting
of the lamp. This was followed by the Prefect Designates
of Std VIII impressively marching upto the dais to the
slow beat of the drum. The blessings of the Almighty
were invoked through an inspiring prayer song by the
school choir. The Assistant Vice- Principal, Mr. Jacob
Zacharias welcomed
the distinguished gathering, which comprised of the
Chief Guest, Mr. Ajeet Walavalkar, the Principal, the
Administration Manager, the Vice-Principals of the
Senior, Middle and Primary Sections, Assistant
Vice-Principals , Heads of
various Departments, proud parents of the new
Junior Prefects, teachers, and the students of class
VIII.
The highlight of the day was the assembling of the
elected Prefects in a perfect V formation, flanking the
School flag and the four House flags. The Principal
administered the oath of office to the office-bearers,
wherein the young leaders pledged to take on their
responsibilities and discharge their duties diligently
and to the best of their ability, upholding the honour
of the school at all times. This was followed by the
pinning of the badges, after which the Chief Guest, Mr.
Walavalkar addressed
the gathering and exhorted the Prefects to live up to
the pledge that they had taken and be perfect role
models for all the students of the Middle Section. The
Principal then congratulated the Prefects and asked them
to develop leadership qualities. He stressed on being
good, and to develop creative skills to make the school
a better place to be educated in. Later, the
Vice-Principal of the Middle Section, Mr. S. I. Shareef,
led the Prefects in a prayer, followed by the Acceptance
speech proposed by Sara Khan, a Junior Prefect. The
programme concluded with the School Anthem sung by the
School Choir.
