STUDENTS EXCEL AT SCIENCE
INDIA
FIESTA 2010
The
students of Indian School Muscat brought laurels to
their alma mater by winning various prizes in different
competitions organized by Science India Forum on
Thursday, 8th April 2010 at Indian School Al
Wadi Al Kabir Auditorium.
The
Science India forum organized competitions in Digital
Symposium, English Debate, and Science Skit for the
students of various schools in the Sultanate of Oman.
Nishigandha Nagesh Kelkar (X J) of Indian School Muscat
won the first prize in the digital symposium on the
topic ‘Non-Conventional Source of Energy – Solar
Energy’. Students from eleven schools participated in
the competition. English Debate was organized in two
categories namely junior and senior. Janani Ramakrishnan
(XII B) and Aritro Banerjee (XII E) formed ISM senior
team. Janani was declared the best speaker and Aritro
bagged the prize for the best rebuttal speaker. Krishna
H. Doshi (X C) and Mohd Sameer Pasha (X D) represented
the school in the junior category and secured the second
prize. Indian School Muscat was awarded the overall
trophy in debate competition. The students of Indian
School Muscat also participated in the science skit and
bagged the second position. The participants were Aaron
(XII D), Pallavi Bai, Arzoo (XI E), Krishna H. Doshi (X
C), Rony, Rishi, Yash, Falahuddin, Mir and Wazil (X K).
The
participants and the winners of various competitions
were felicitated with trophies and certificates in a
colourful function that was held on Friday, 9th
April 2010 in Le Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel,
Muscat
. His Excellency Shri Anil Wadhwa, Ambassador of India
to the Sultanate of Oman graced the occasion and gave
away the prizes. The proud students received their
coveted trophies from the chief guest. Indian school
