Indian
School Muscat conducted a creative writing competition
for the students of the middle section on
23rd April 2009
. It drew a good response from all classes. A total of
309 students from Classes 5 to 8 participated in the
competition. The topics tested the originality and
creative thinking of the students.
The
students were quite excited about participating in the
competition.
A
grade 5 student said he was participating in such a
competition for the very first time. He said it is a
great way to develop one’s imagination, and would like
to participate every year. A grade 6 student, commenting
on her topic, excitedly remarked that she had always
wanted to be a Prefect and so she could write a lot
about all that she would do if she were elected Prefect.
“The topic was quite funny and based on Science
fiction. I enjoyed writing on the topic,” said a grade
7 student. A student of grade 8 felt that Creative
Writing Competitions are avenues to give free rein to
one’s imagination and creativity unlimitedly.
