KINDERGARTEN SPORTS DAY 2008
The
annual sports day of the kindergarten section was
recently held in Indian School Muscat grounds.
The
programme commenced with the torch run in the true
Olympics style. It was great to see the tiny tots
running with the torch, passing it with dexterity and
running on to place it in the torch stand. Then, the
chief guest for the day
Mrs. Gargi Chug inaugurated the function by
declaring the Annual Sports for Kindergarten open.
The
march past by the children of KGI and KGII wearing
headgears of animal faces, followed the bannerholders
with discipline.
Soon
after the march past, the novelty races commenced. The
theme for the day was "Animals land their
habits." The children of the KGI sections and KGII
sections were rabbits, Zebras, giraffes, parrots,
leopards, ducks, frogs, elephant, dogs and kangaroos.
The races went with the names like Hippty, Hop, Hop,
Tall ! Taller! Tallest, quackie Ducks, which indicated
what he children intended to do in their races.
The
children of KG II sections were annaconda feast,
Coronation of the proud peacock, who will bell the cat,
etc indicated the nature of the race.
Sports
activity at the kindergarten stage is to have fun, learn
the value of both hard work and life long exercise, and
take pride in self improvement and team work but with no
competiton ,as it may interfere with learning skills.
The message was conveyed with great clarity in all the
novelty races that were showcased.
After
the each novelty race, all the children who participated
received a prize given away by parents of the respective
classes. Soon after all the races, the children of both
KGI and KGII ,assembled on the grounds for a group song
---- "Let's move, whether we are big or
small"..... Their rendition of the song along
with actions, was moving and great to watch. The sports
day concluded with the National Anthem.
The
principal, the Admin. Manager the KG Supervisor,
The vice principals of senior, middle, primary and
all the HOD's and the parents applauded loudly at
the skills of the tiny tots and the teachers for the
efforts they have taken to train the children.
