ISM JHANKAAR SPECTRUM
2008 EVENTS BLASTS OFF
A two-day inter-school
scholastic and cultural mega talent meet was inaugurated
by His Excllency Shri Anil Wadhwa, Ambassador of India
to the Sultanate of Oman on 15th October 2008
at the new Multi-purpose Hall of ISM.The inauguration
started off with the lighting of the lamp by the His
Excellency Shri Anil Wadhwa, followed by a prayer by the
school choir. A dance invocation based on the patriotic
song ‘Vande Mataram’ was followed by a short skit by
students of class 1 explaining what the words JHANKAAR
stood for. An insight into the spectrum of events was
presented by the Asst. Head Girl, Anjana Nanda. A duet
by Sowmya Vijayan of XII J and Aishwarya Kumar of X K
was well appreciated by all.
His
Excellency Shri Anil Wadhwa in his address to the
students said that this Jhankaar at ISM was the first of
its kind with forty two events galore. He said that in
his times he used to look forward for such events, but
in those days it used to be only a few events. But now
with globalization and modernization students of
today’s world have excellent opportunities to
participate and show case their talents. This is indeed
very essential for the holistic creative growth of every
child. More
than 600 students from all Indian schools in the
Sultanate of Oman are participating in the events
including the students from Indian High School Dubai. He
congratulated the students of ISM for having organized a
talent event of this magnitude and the
PARIKRAMA show on Friday at the City Amphi-theatre for
the noble cause of raising funds for children touched by
cancer at the
SQU
Hospital
.
The
Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Girls’ Dean, Nikita
Benson. Events of various categories were in progress
all through the day. The participants of various schools
have come in large numbers to have a peek into this
world of talent and scholastic events at ISM.
