ISM LIBRARIES
"Next to
acquiring good friends, the best acquisition is that of good
books".
|
The school takes
pride in its three independent libraries catering to the
Primary, Middle and Senior sections. All these libraries
are stocked with books related to these sections for
general reading and reference work for both staff and
students. The books are replenished annually. An Open
Access system is followed wherein the students have free
access to the shelves and choose a book of their choice
for reading in the library or taking it home. The
libraries subscribe to newspapers, magazines and
journals that provide current information to the
children. Each library functions in a specific way with
different age groups as detailed below: |

Primary School Library:
At this tender age guided reading takes place where the
librarian plays an active part in providing interesting
information through charts and helping the children
individually to select books of his/her choice, provides
meaning and explanations of difficult words and assists in
pronouncing new vocabulary.
Middle School Library:
There is a great variety of books not only for general
reading but also for developing the interest of the children
in various subjects they study at school. The reference
sections containing encyclopedias, dictionaries, manuals
etc. expose the children to a wider variety of information.
Previous years question papers are also available for the
students.
Senior School:
In addition to all the above facilities the senior school has
plenty more to offer. The library has advanced reference
material for extensive project work and experiments.
Educational technology in the form of Multi Media Kit has been
recently introduced to update the library. The library is
equipped with board question papers, sample papers and a
question bank for exam preparation.
