INVESTITURE CEREMONY- PRIMARY SECTION  2011- 2012

The Indian School Muscat was witness to a solemn ceremony where

students of Std IV, Primary Section were invested as Blossoms. The

Chief Guest of the morning’s function was Ms. Mrudu Naik, Chief

Reporter, Times of Oman . The Principal, Vice Principals of the three

sections and the Heads of various departments of the school were also

present. The morning’s event began with the time honoured tradition of

lighting the lamp by the chief guest, signifying movement from

darkness to light. This was followed by the melodious rendering of the

prayer song “Pyaasa Hiran Jaise“ by the students of Std IV led by Ms.

Meenakshi Ramamoorthy. The welcome address was then followed by the

Oath Taking ceremony by the Blossoms. They promised to uphold the

values and principles held so dear by this esteemed institution for

over more than 35 years of its venerated history. The students also

enunciated the principles that the Blossoms need to follow such as

being loving, bold, loyal, good leaders, organized, meticulous, etc.

The badges of honour were then pinned on to the students by the guests

at the gathering. The Blossoms then took a pledge to honour and obey

the rules laid out for them and to do the task at hand to the best of

their ability. The Principal Mr. Achuthan Madhav addressed the

Blossoms and exhorted them to take up the duty assigned to them with

utmost responsibility and to also serve the students with a smiling

face.  Mr. Anand Prabhu, Vice Principal, Primary Section later led the

gathering to a prayer asking for divine assistance to aid and support

the children in their tremendous mission. The morning’s function ended

with the patriotic rendering of the Indian National Anthem by the

children gathered to witness the function.
