DISTRIBUTION OF ANSWER SCRIPTS FOR CLASS IX AND XI

Answer scripts of Std. IX and XI examinations will be shown to the students on Saturday, 20th  March 2010.  Students must report at 7.10 am on 20/3/2010 and the entire process will get over by 10.30 am.  Parents are requested to pick up your wards by 10.30 am.

Results for these classes will be declared on Wednesday, 24th March 2010.

Detailed circular regarding sale of books will be sent by the respective Vice-Principals/ KG Supervisor.  Please note that no books will be sold at Jibroo premises.

PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME:

Parent Orientation programme for classes IX and X (present classes 8 and 9) will be held on Wednesday, 31st March 2010 from  7.30 pm to 9 pm in the new multipurpose hall.  All parents are requested to attend the programme and sign the ‘Code of Conduct’ for their wards studying in these classes.

NEW ACADEMIC YEAR:

New academic year for all classes except KG-I and Std. XI will commence on Saturday, 3rd April 2010.

EASTER HOLIDAY :

The school will remain closed on Sunday, 4th April 2010  on  the occasion of Easter.  We extend our heartfelt Easter  greetings and best wishes to all our students and parents on this auspicious occasion.

SUMMER VACATION:

The summer vacation for all classes will commence on Thursday, 3rd June 2010.  The school will reopen on Tuesday, 27th July 2010 for all classes, after the summer vacation.

ISSUE OF ADMIT CARDS:

Admit Cards for Std. X will be distributed as per the following schedule:

20th  February, 2010: Sections A to F

21st  February, 2010: Sections G to K

Admit Cards for Std. XII will be distributed as per the following schedule:

22nd  February, 2010: Sections A to D

23rd  February, 2010: Sections E to I

Reporting Time: 7.10 am in their respective class rooms.

CLASS XI ADMISSION:

Application forms for provisional admission to class XI at ISM has been  issued to class X students.  Parents are requested to enter the choice of group and other details and submit the same to the senior  Vice-Principal’s office latest by the 15th of February 2010. Non-submission of application forms on time will deprive the child from getting proper choice of group required.

ANNUAL DAY:

The 35th   Annual Day function of our school  will be held on Thursday, 18th February 2010  at 6.30 p.m. in the school premises.   All   parents are cordially invited to attend the function.  Kindly be in your seats latest by 6.15 p.m.  H.E. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Harthy, Minister of Civil Service,  Sultanate of Oman has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest.

I would also like to inform you that Mr. M C Sharma, Controller of Examinations, CBSE will  be the Guest of Honour at the function.

We congratulate the following achievers for having brought honours to their parents and to the school.

Siddharth Kerkar (X-H) and Tanvi Gupta (VIII-J) for becoming the runner-up in the TERRAQUIZ 2010 organized by the Energy and Resource Institute, New Delhi from 25th to 31st January 2010.  This is a remarkable achievement.  Students from 32 schools all over India and abroad participated in this great  event.  The  students received cash prize of Rs.15,000/- each, Rs.10,000/- for their incidental expenses in Delhi and Rs.30,000/- to facilitate their Air Travel.

Pranav Laxmanan of Std.  XII-B has made a brilliant performance in the International SAT examinations conducted all over the world.   He scored a perfect 800 out of 800 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics each; a total of 2400 out of 2400.  Only two students have achieved this outstanding position of being the top scorers in the SAT examinations this year.

DATE SHEET – CLASSES X & XII BOARD EXAMINATIONS:

I would like to inform you that the CBSE has declared dates for the Class X and XII Board Examinations.  Class XII examinations will commence on 3rd March 2010 and class X will start from 5th March 2010.  The timetable  has been put up on the students’ notice board.  All examinations will commence at 9.00 am Oman Time.

Please advise your wards to give maximum care and  attention to their studies. The  date sheet is also  available on the CBSE website – www.cbse.nic.in

SUMMER VACATION:

The summer vacation for all classes will commence on Thursday, 3rd June 2010.  The school will reopen on Tuesday, 27th July 2010 for all classes, after the summer vacation.

REPUBLIC DAY:

The school will remain closed on the occasion of India ’s 61st  Republic Day on Tuesday, 26th January 2010.

His Excellency Shri Anil Wadhwa, the Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman will hoist the National Flag at 7.30 am on 26/01/2010 at Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir.

CLASS X AND XII CBSE BOARD EXAMINATIONS:

The Secondary School (Class X) and Senior School Certificate (Class XII) Examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education are scheduled to commence from Wednesday, 3rd March 2010.

Photo albums of the recently held  Khimji Awards Function and ISM Merit Awards Ceremonies are available in the senior  library.  Students can place order for the required number of photographs with the librarian by paying 100 baizas per photo.

OPEN FORUM MEETINGS:

This is to inform you that the Open Forum meetings for the Primary and Kindergarten sections will be held on Tuesday, 24th   November 2009 and for Middle and Senior sections on Wednesday, 25th   November 2009 from 7.30 p.m. in the new multipurpose hall.

 We cordially invite all parents to attend the same and request that parents bring up academic and pedagogic  issues that concern the general standard of the  school and also to enhance the support systems or facilities needed for the good of the school. Please do not bring in  personal issues as these are being sorted out and attended to at the level of the Vice-Principals and  the Principal.

We will be most happy for qualitative  suggestions that will add value to innovative programmes in furthering school practices  so that we can give better service to the students who have been entrusted to our care.
