MEMORY GENIOUS AT
ISM
Aashish Rao, a proud class XII
student of Indian School Muscat, mesmerized his school
mates with a display of his eidetic memory at a special
assembly on 31/10/2011.
Aashish Rao (XII-B) set new records, securing 2795 points and became the “Indian
Memory Champion” and also a topper in 3 different
events at a memory meet held on 24th October
2011 at Hotel Greenpark, Hyderabad.
He achieved this milestone by defeating 68
competitors in ten different events such as memorization
of numbers, dates, abstract images, words, names, faces,
playing cards etc. Aashish
also won Gold in three of the events and set three
national records. He
was declared the winner of the National Memory
Championship 2011. Aashish
will participate in the World Memory Championship which
will be held in China in the second week of December
2011.
One of the
founders of World Memory Championship at London gifted
Aashish a valuable book written by the Founder, Mr. Tony
Buzan, mentioning in the book, quoting Aashish as
Ramanujam 2. They
assured Aashish that they would provide full
co-operation to him if he would commence Memory Training
Centre at
Oman
or
India
which would create a platform for developing mental
skills and mind game sport for
the young student community
which will help them in fine academic
performance.
Indian
School Muscat family congratulates Aashish for his
outstanding feat.
During the recent years Ashish did exceptionally
well in the World Championships held in London and China
and was ranked among the top few.
His ranking in India is No.
1 and world ranking is 32 in the Memory Championship
title.
