The INTERNATIONAL AWARD SCHEME for young people, has through its varied activities played a key role in moulding Indian school Muscat students as the makers of tomorrow.

It was the forward looking mind and the enlightened vision of His Highness the Duke of Edinburgh who introduced and initiated this award scheme with the sole purpose of including the spirit of adventure and infuse into the young minds and the hearts of the youth world over the sense of enthusiastic and energetic participation to uphold the sense of accepting new challenges and adventures. This indeed is global scheme.

The scheme is also intended to foster the qualities of leadership which believes in the spirit of caring and sharing and train the youth to undertake the responsibility and learn to interact like a good human with the society, with their family and finally learn the art of becoming an ideal citizen, being deeply conscious of the noble goals of this scheme.

This scheme was launched officially on 18th November 1992 with twenty three girls and twenty boys from Std XI. At present there are 358 award entrants from Stds IX, X. XI and XII. The students are taking part enthusiastically in different confidence and character building activities such as service, skills, expeditions and physical recreations which are the important requisites to win the Awards.

ISM honours International Award Scheme Entrants:
42 boys and 38 girls of class X were awarded the prestigious International Award Scheme Bronze Awards at the special morning assembly of the senior school. The Principal, Mr. Ainsley L. Edgar who is the operating Authority commended the winners and stated that through social service, one learns about working in unison and achieving the desired results. The objectives of the IAS were further elaborated when he stressed upon how beneficial the scheme is in inculcating basic human values.

The International Award Scheme at ISM lives up to the motto:
"CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO IMPROVE YOUR PERFORMANCE AND FITNESS"
