Information Technology

In the Senior school we have three well equipped computer labs having 150 machines. All the machines are Pentium III and IV with two servers supported with 2 printers, one laserjet and another deskjet. We also have a proxy server for internet browsing.


Curriculum for students who have taken Computer Science as one of the optional subjects in Class XI and Class XII includes programming with C++ and concepts like networks, RDBMS, SQL, Boolean algebra etc. They work on projects in C++ in the 12th standard. Programming in C++ covers most of the topics like inheritance, pointers, data structures, files, polymorphism etc. This enables the students to make full fledged applications in C++ when they finish their XIIth standard.

For the Commerce and Humanities stream, a subject Informatics Practices can be opted by the students.The syllabus for Informatics practices in the 11th standard includes detailed description in MS Word, Visual Basic and Oracle (SQL). The students get an idea about components of the computer system and the operating system concepts. They do a mini project in Visual Basic in 11th standard. In standard XII they learn theory on Business Computing and Database Applications, Advanced Programming Development Methodology and Advanced Database Technology and do advanced programming in Visual Basic. Standard XII also introduces PL/SQL that enables students to create and operate on relational databases. In Std. XII students work on investigating projects which are more realistic and general. At the end of the year students are able to acquire basic knowledge of information technology, learn information processing tools and techniques, understand IT applications in various domains of business and develop IT vocational appreciation.

For classes IX and X Introductory Information Technology is taken as an additional subject prescribed by CBSE. The syllabus includes topics, such as, Introduction to computers system concepts, Introduction to windows and working with MS Office packages. Students will be prepared to work on projects in MS word, MS excel and MS Access. This will make them confident to continue working in all the office packages throughout their lifetime.


Internet accessing facility is given to all students. Students are given Internet related worksheets in all the subjects. By browsing the web they find the answers and submit the answer scripts to their subject teachers.

Use of interactive CDs and presentation of material with the help of LCD projector ensures that every child gets the best which technology is able to provide today
